Safety and Video Inspections
The
best way to ensure that your chimney system is operating safely
and correctly is to have a chimney professional evaluate the
system every year. In fact, annual inspection of all fireplaces,
chimneys and vents has long been part of the National Fire
Protection Association (NFPA) standard.
We
will professionally inspect your chimney system looking for
blockage, excessive creosote buildup, deteriorated flue liners,
deteriorated masonry, structural problems, and potential venting
problems that could contribute to fire hazards or incomplete
venting of toxic fumes.
We
will verify that your system meets the requirements of the
National Fire Protection Association Standard 211 (Standard
for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances).
When
requested and when necessary we can employ video inspection
to ascertain, verify and document potential flue and chimney
damage or problems. This is the most effective method available
to determine the interior condition of a chimney flue.
Video
inspection should be employed whenever a home is sold or new
heating appliances are installed.
